1978 - My motivation for being in the Biomedical Engineering and Medical field came while watching this TV show, "The Six Million Dollar Man". It was especially touching to see them replace one of his eyeballs, as I had known that my dad had his eyeball replaced during cancer surgery, with a glass eyeball.
Our earliest prototypes for Channel MedSystems, an endoscopic based catheter, balloon, fluid and ablation system for the GI Tract and Endometrial Ablation. We recently completed a deal in 2020 for $70M with Boston Scientific (BSC). I am a cofounder, and this photo was taken in my garage in SF, where I hand designed, hand built and hand tested the initial prototypes and designs we eventually used.
